How Pangolin Photo Safaris is using CXA to grow its social following

Welcome to our onboarding blog series, where we highlight customers and their journey with ActiveCampaign. Every month thousands of customers complete their onboarding experience with us, having learned everything they need to get started within ActiveCampaign successfully. We’ll be sharing a story from each month’s graduating class.

This month we would like everyone to get to know Toby Jermyn, Director at Pangolin Photo Safaris, based in Botswana.

We chose Toby this month because what’s not to like about Pangolins and Safaris?

All joking aside, we wanted to take a moment to highlight Pangolin Photo Safaris because they offer photographic safaris to suit all budgets and wildlife photographic abilities. You don’t need to be a professional photographer to be able to take amazing nature pictures, and this makes our inner David Attenborough very happy.

With the help of Toby and his team, you could not only witness the most breathtaking and stunning landscapes on planet Earth (and engrave them in your memory), but you could also support a new non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of the most highly trafficked wildlife species on the continent: the African Pangolin. And that is something very close to our hearts. Every little bit helps!

Get to know what Pangolin Photo Safaris is all about below!

Tell us about your journey with ActiveCampaign so far:

We have used Mailchimp for the last ten years and had no inclination to look elsewhere. It did the simple job of mailing our database once a week and was easy to manage. When we took the time to look at alternatives (and found ActiveCampaign), it opened up a whole new world of possibilities for us.

Rather than just mailing once a week, I am now in constant contact with our followers and clients, developing them into safari-goers – with a minimal amount of my time needed – thanks to the clever automations we have set up. I am looking forward to learning more from ActiveCampaign and targeting my contacts more efficiently and effectively.

Tell us about you:

We are a photo safari operator from Botswana playing. We specialize in teaching people wildlife photography, and part of that is persuading those who think they may not be photographers that they are. This starts at the first contact they have with us.

We operate throughout Southern and East Africa and have followers all over the world. Our aim is to attract as many clients who want to book directly with us as this is far more profitable. We regard ourselves as a company that embraces new technologies to achieve our goals.

Tell us about your customers:

Our clients are based all over the world. We would classify them as predominantly the empty nester bucket listers. They are typically retired or semi-retired. They use some social media (mainly Facebook and YouTube) and respond well to email marketing. They enjoy their wildlife photography and are often well-traveled. They are happy to research their own holidays and will book directly with us rather than through agents closer to home. They value experiences over luxury when on safari.

What’s your favorite thing about ActiveCampaign?

The integration through Zapier to our CRM of choice, Zoho, is saving me a ton of time! I also like the automation that I built with my Onboarding Specialist, Laura, to unsubscribe contacts who are not engaged. Why should I pay for people to ignore my emails?

What are your dreams for Pangolin Photo Safaris in the next 1 year?

To grow our following on Social media and thus increase the number of contacts on our ActiveCampaign List with high-quality followers and fans.
