ActiveCampaign + Magento

We are excited to announce an official integration with Magento, which our customers have been asking about for quite a while. We took the time to create something that is useful out of the box. Here’s what you can do with it:

  1. Connect any ActiveCampaign hosted account (using your API URL and Key).
  2. Have new customer account registrations added to ActiveCampaign (if they opt-in to the Newsletter).
  3. Have existing customer account Newsletter modifications updated in ActiveCampaign.
  4. Bulk export/sync all current Magento Newsletter subscribers to ActiveCampaign in just two clicks!

  • this work for onsite users?

    • jvandeboom

      Not at this time

    • MattThommes

The Magento integration should now work for On-Site users also (5.4). Let us know of any problems.

  • Hector

It is understandable you make a lot more recurrent $$ from your hosted clients but it is terrible that all features are always released ONLY for the SaaS and the on-site customers treated as a no-thought. Frustrating.

    • jvandeboom

We just had a major update to the on-site edition. So we most certainly do release things for on-site. And as we state everywhere they are not the same platform, code base, or roadmap — so there will be continual differences.

      • But is frustrating. Maybe you should work in having the same or a similar code base and release new features at the same time. Is frustrating sometimes wait 6-8 months to have the same version/upgrade or feature!
        ;)

That sucks for the relationship with partners…
    “Magento
integration with ActiveCampaign is completely free, but ActiveCampaign
charges a monthly fee (starting at $9/month) for the service based on
    the number of subscribers needed.

I am not sure what you mean? Partners still get a discount (the more accounts they have with us).

    Hi ,

I am currently using the above extension with the Magento version 1.6.2.0.

Could not get the “Export Magento Subscribers” functionality working. It seems to throw a notice in the front-end.
When I debugged could see the response of the curl_exec to be empty, $response=””.
And, the method seems to return something like “An unexpected problem occurred with the API request. Some causes include: invalid JSON or XML returned. Here is the actual response from the server: —-”

The post data is a serialised one, and it seemed to look alright.

The subscribe/unsubscribe functionalities seems to work though.

Can you please let me know what possibly could go wrong here?.

    Thanks,
    Swapna

Hi Swapna, what version of the ActiveCampaign extension are you using? We just updated it to version 1.5:

      http://www.activecampaign.com/blog/confirm-magento-customer-subscriptions/

I’ve tested just now with Magento version 1.7.0.2 and ActiveCampaign extension version 1.5, and the Export feature works fine. Please let us know (after upgrading your versions) if it still does not work for you.

      Thanks!

        Hi Matt,

        Thanks for the spontaneous reply!.

I am installing the version 1.5 now.

Its disappointing that clicking on “Install” in the Main Product Page Section did not install the latest version. I had to got to the release notes to get the latest one.

I ll update with the comment once I get this working.

        Swapna

        Hi Matt,

Looks like I am already using the 1.5.0 version :(
May I know if are you testing by turning off PHP
        Notices/Warnings ?.

        Swapna

        • Hi Swapna,

I’ll likely need access to your Magento installation so I can take a closer look. Is that possible to provide? You can email me matt@activecampaign.com.

          Thanks!

  • Laura

    Hi,

I install this extension and work fine only when de customer subscribe, when the customer unsubscribe in magento don’t subscribe in Activecampaign.

    Could you help me, please?

    I use magento 1.7.0.2 and ActiveCampagin 1.5.0

    Thanks,

    Laura

    • Hi Laura,

We’ll have this fixed right away. Check for plugin version 1.5.1, which will contain the update.

      Thanks!

  • alemax

Is it possible that when the user subscribe to the newsletter in Magento, he is inserted in a specific group created inside a particular list? thank you

    • Hi – when they unsubscribe in Magento, it will simply unsubscribe them from the list(s) in ActiveCampaign (whatever lists you chose when configuring the Magento plugin), so it should stay in sync.

      • alemax

Sorry, maybe u misunderstood my request. I asked if it was possibile to automatic-insert a subscriber from magento in a specific group (segment) created inside a list

        • Sure – just set up the segment in ActiveCampaign for the same list(s) you have configured in Magento.

  • A complete list of applications we integrate with can be found at http://www.activecampaign.com/apps/ I know that Padiact and a few others have functionality like that.
