Website Integration

Definition

A website integration is when your website sends or receives information from another application, system, or website. Website integrations are useful when you want to connect data from different sources. This data can be combined to better understand your customers, their behaviors, to optimize gaps in your business operations, and reduce human error.

Why is website integration important?

Website integration allows you to better manage sales and marketing activities. When an application is integrated into your website, you can track how effective your marketing campaigns are through conversion rate optimization.

What is the difference between a website integration and API?

The basics of integration is about facilitating data interactions between your website and another application. An API (application programming interface) allows the two applications to communicate. You will often need an API key in order to access information from another system.

What is a custom integration?

A custom website integration requires building custom software solutions that are specific to a particular use case.

Examples of Custom Integrations

-You could use a custom Ecommerce integration to take the customer name submitted in an order form to your label printing software for a custom coffee mug.

-After a customer makes a purchase on your website you can follow up with a Thank You email for purchasing directly after. If you want to do this now, check out ActiveCampaign’s Stripe and PayPal integrations

What are the different types or forms of integration?

-Server data transfer

-Manual Data Transfer

-Direct Server Access

-Web Interfaces
