Long form content is content, typically written or video, that takes an above average amount of time to consume. The exact word count required for a piece of content to be considered "long form" is a matter of contention. Some marketers consider content over 500 words to be "long form," whereas other marketers routinely create content that exceeds 2000, 3000, or 4000 words.

Although long form content typically refers to written content, it can also refer to video content or podcasts. As with written content, definitions of long form content vary, with different marketers considering videos of different length to be "long form."
