Permission Email Marketing

Definition

Permission email marketing is marketing focused on getting permission ti contact prospects at a later date with information, promotions, and offers.

Permission is given when a contact fills out an opt-in form, makes a purchase, or willingly gives their consent to be added to your email list. Contacts that opt-in have indicated they have some level of interest in a business, and are added to email workflows to nurture, re-sell, up-sell, or inform them of business updates.

The phrase “Permission Marketing” was coined by marketer Seth Godin in the late 1990s.
