Engagement Survey When Contact Becomes Inactive

ActiveCampaign

Why do contacts stop engaging over time?

This is the mystery that haunts all marketers, but it doesn't have to be. By sending out a small questionnaire to contacts as they stop engaging, you can find out why. Sometimes it's a simple fix, like finding out someone does want to hear from you, but only around holidays or other special occasions. Others might have had a negative experience with your product or service and finding out this information allows you to assist them and win back the customer.

This automation activates after a contact has been inactive for 6 months. An email is sent to them containing a small survey to allow for feedback that your team can then use to identify friction points or areas where contacts might stop engaging. You will need to have built out a custom date field for "last engaged date" before importing this automation.

Here's how this automation works:
1. The contact enters the automation when it is 6 months after their last engaged date.
2. The contact is sent an email with a survey.

Note: We populate the last engaged date by using the automation recipe "Last Engaged Date". Feel free to adjust the trigger to however you check for engagement, such as tagging.

Note: Depending on the options you create for your survey, creating flows to retarget audiences based on when they want to hear from you, such as during sales or around the holidays, is a great way to level up this automation.
