When adding a contact to a Deal or Account, we’ll display recently viewed contacts from a user’s iOS device to make it easier to select the contact they need. Before, you needed to search for a contact to associate them to a Deal or Account. Users will still be able to search globally for a contact. Note: Available to all users who use Deals and Accounts.
All users with Campaign Report permissions now have more context of how a campaign was set up and what future sends are triggered by.
New validation patterns will appear when adding or editing Contacts and Deals. A red asterisk next to the field title marks it required and if there is an error saving, a validation message will display beneath. Fields are also optimized to only show the most important fields on creation while still giving the user a way to view and edit all standard and custom fields. Note: Available for all users who use Deals.
When viewing a split test’s report, users will see what email ratios and winning criteria was defined during setup. This is helpful in remembering which data point (clicks or opens) was used to determine the winner and/or for seeing when a winner will be determined. Note: Available to all users with Campaign Reporting permissions
What - Streamlined Deal and Account add/edit forms by removing extra steps that took the user away from the main form + added more helpful validation patterns. Note: Available to users with Deal and Account add/edit permissions
Users with Deals now have the ability to sort deals alphabetically in the pipeline view. Until now, users could only sort by creation date or value.
This gives users the ability to compose emails from scratch or from a saved response, creating consistency and saving time. When composing from a saved response, personalization tags and HTML are copied over.
For non-english speaking users, strings are now translated in Web Personalization so the user can experience the product in their preferred language. Note: Web Personalization is available to users on Professional and Enterprise tiers
For users on Plus and some Lite accounts that have access to our Pages product, upgrading for web personalization will be a natural progression. In the secondary “Site” nav (if the user has permission to use it), users will see a button to upgrade. Resold accounts will not see a button to upgrade but they will see copy in place of the button that reads “Upgrade for web personalization.” Note: Available to resold & non-resold accounts on Plus and those on Lite that also have Pages.
To ensure resellers and white-labeled partners have the same flexibility with Web Personalization as they do with the rest of the platform, a few links in Web Personalization now take users to ActiveCampaign branded help docs. These links will now be dynamically displayed, depending on the reseller checking the “Hide product links” box on their reseller dashboard. The upgrade buttons aren’t dynamic. Any resold account will not see the button to upgrade, even if the reseller doesn’t want to hide product links. As mentioned above, users will see text that says “upgrade for web personalization”
To provide admins the same high-level control over Web Personalization as they do with other features within ActiveCampaign, admins now have the ability to toggle Web Personalization on and off for specific groups. This means that Web Personalization will be on for admins and off for non-admins by default. If the admin wants to give a specific group access, they will have to manually toggle it on for that group. Note: This is available to users on Professional and Enterprise tiers
A personalized experience shouldn’t stop once the visitor clicks a link. Users now have the ability to redirect links to any page or website, leading to a more relevant customer journey. Note: Available all users on professional or enterprise
Reporting & Analytics
Web Personalization users can access this report to better understand the performance and engagement of each published experience over time. Dynamically filter experience name and date to see metrics and trends around total visitors and a breakdown of new vs returning visitors. The breakdown will also display an identifier for each contact who visited the experience, which can be clicked on to view more details. Users can also jump back into the experience overview page directly from the report for any enhancements. Note: This is available to Professional and Enterprise tiers using Web Personalization.
Getting started with automations can be challenging, so all users will now get Automation Recipe Recommendations personalized by the account industry selected during sign up. Once users have set up their automations, they do not need to see recommendations and can toggle them on/off.
If a user has verified a domain (or if the domain is waiting to be verified) a user can remove the domain from the list and reset the domain verification process. Previously, if a user tested this functionality to understand its impact, they were unable to remove the domain. Note: Available to all users who have had access to domain verification since 7/28/20. Resellers are excluded.
First send tips are a collection of tips and educational content that give users strategic guidance. In the first tip, users are encouraged to start thinking about segmentation, even if they are just sending a test campaign. The second tip will be related to campaign reporting and will start to improve the user’s understanding of what to expect from their data. These tips will display until a user dismisses them. Note: Tips will be hidden for resellers.
If a user has submitted a support ticket they can now access the ticket from the platform. This link will open a new tab to display their open tickets. If branding is turned off, this link will be hidden. Previously, customers often had to bookmark the support page.
Apps & Integrations
App Studio is a self-serve portal for developers and SaaS companies interested in building Apps on our platform. It unlocks the ability for developers to build Apps that extend ActiveCampaign with branded triggers and actions. As the capabilities grow, so does App Studio - any new capability exposed in our configuration will automatically be available to build in App Studio. Through App Studio, Partners can independently build, validate and test their app configuration, submit their app for review and release an approved App directly to the ecosystem. Partners can extend the capabilities of ActiveCampaign by launching their app in the ActiveCampaign App Ecosystem, and to our global network of 100K+ customers. Note: While all accounts have access to App Studio, this release will be largely valuable to App Partners who’ve requested a sandbox account.
Unbounce integration app users now have added pagination capabilities to retrieve all resources from Unbounce when an account is connected to ActiveCampaign. This capability will enable ActiveCampaign to retrieve all resources for a customer to subscribe to data and events. A known issue was resolved, where Unbounce customers with greater than 200 landing pages could not access all of them when connecting to their Unbounce account. This will improve experience for all accounts.
All customers who have a Zendesk Sell account (all tiers) can create & update leads in Zendesk Sell with Contact data from ActiveCampaign to ensure lead data is up to date and actionable. Users can easily set up automations that allow you to identify Zendesk Sell tags that you'd like to automatically apply to any of your leads.
New options to forms make them easier to customize! Includes 14 new font options on all forms. For pop-up and floating box forms, adjust corner radius, padding, shadow intensity, and a new option to add an image as the background. Previously, forms had been limited to a single font, few sizing options and no ability to add images to the background. Additional notes: All form types will now have 14 new fonts included. All the other formatting options will only be available on the pop-up and floating box forms for now. This is not available to resellers.
Users can now rename a campaign, regardless of status.
Pages users can now route their page visitors to another page when they submit a form on a page. Note: Available to all accounts with access to Pages.
If you're a new account user, a new "Welcome" page will appear when you click on Campaigns from the main navigation menu. The page provides educational guides and videos on deliverability and general best practices when sending a test campaign, to help you get started. Note: If branding is turned off in your account, all guides, videos, and external links will be hidden.
If you’re a new account user adding lists for the first time, we now provide you with recommended list options that you can add with a single click. These list recommendations are tailored based on the industry you selected during the account sign-up process. As a best practice, we recommend creating just a small number of lists, and using tags and custom fields to further segment.
CRM & Pipeline Management
For customers who use API v3, PUT and POST calls will now also take custom fields, so that a separate custom field call is no longer needed in order to set custom field values. Links to documentation are included below.
Apps & Integrations
Our new native Paypal integration helps you seamlessly connect ActiveCampaign to your Paypal account, improving the flow of data between the two systems. You can now use the data and events captured in Paypal to more easily act on real-time events and transactions. Connect your Paypal account to ActiveCampaign to sync order events, create and update contacts, and use the branded Paypal trigger in Automations to trigger a workflow in ActiveCampaign when orders are approved and completed in PayPal.
When mapping data from Calendly to ActiveCampaign using our native Calendly integration, you can now create a custom contact field with the field type ‘Date/Time,’ then map any meeting start/end date to this field type. When a new meeting is scheduled, the meeting date will update the ‘Date/Time’ contact field to enable more granular date-based segmentation. When you can segment around meeting events, you can tailor the customer experience based on the event’s proximity.
We added a new question block within the chatbot builder to help you save even more time on real-time chat. The question block enables more qualification and data collection upfront, before you need to respond. The question block supports custom field data collection, along with branching capabilities to determine the path a visitor moves through based on their responses. The new chatbot question block is also supported in the ActiveCampaign mobile app.
We’ve introduced a chatbot preview function to help you be confident you’re delivering your intended visitor experience. When configuring or editing a chatbot flow, your account admin can now use the preview button to walk through the visitor experience while configuring your chatbot flow.
We fixed a bug in the abandoned cart configuration modal that prevented you from using the dropdowns and visibility toggles. You can now use the dropdowns and visibility toggles when editing the abandoned cart block to change the appearance of the abandoned cart block in your email.
You need to not only see which automations a contact has entered or completed, but also be able to add or remove them from an automation. So we made an update that now gives you the option to view, add, or remove a contact from an automation in the ActiveCampaign iOS mobile app.
We added a new question block within the chatbot builder to help you save even more time on real-time chat—and made it available in the ActiveCampaign mobile app. When viewing a conversation, you’ll know when a chatbot asks the visitor a question, and once answered, will see it update based on the visitor’s response.
When viewing an activity feed in our mobile app, you can now filter the activities you see by category. We’ve added the option to select which categories of activity you want to see to help you get the information you’re looking for, faster.
In order to provide a more consistent experience across our web and mobile applications, we’ve updated the order that fields and field groups appear when you go to add and edit accounts in the mobile app. The order is now the same as the order you see in the web version of the ActiveCampaign platform. Previously, these fields did not appear in the same order across our web and mobile applications.
We have redesigned our campaign template pages to help you save time. Now, it’s easier than ever to find past templates, and discover new templates when you need inspiration. The redesign introduces new templates organized by business goals, layouts, inspiration and past campaigns, so it’s easier to search for and discover the template best suited to your needs. You can find the template updates in the campaign creation flow as well as on the “Manage Templates” page.
We’ve also added more actions on templates in “Manage Templates,” including the options to share and copy a template. You can now find the options to share, copy, delete, and preview templates in a drop down menu that appears when you click on the gear icon in the top right corner of each template.
We added the ability to download individual invoices as PDFs from the in-app Billing page, so you can easily download your ActiveCampaign invoices for financial record-keeping. PDF invoices have been a frequently requested feature.
Reporting & Analytics
We’ve enhanced our Custom Reporting to better answer deep-level questions, and provide more in-depth insights to help you improve your ongoing strategies. You can now build custom reports using Campaign and Automation dimensions and measures. Note: Contacts and deals in Custom Reporting cannot cross join with Automations and Campaigns at this time.
For all new customers as of 7/28, you will be required to validate your email domain before sending communications through ActiveCampaign. At the point of your first send, you’ll encounter the validation prompt and then you’ll be able to further manage validated domains via Settings. This change is designed to protect you from malicious senders hoping to spoof your legitimate email address.
CRM & Pipeline Management
For everyone with access to the ActiveCampaign CRM, you can now view all your deals across all Pipelines, Stages, and Statuses in one list view. Users can also now export all your deals from the list view. You can still access your Deal Tasks via the “check mark” on this view. This update will help provide a clear view into all your deals in one place and allow you to identify trends quicker, instead of complex workarounds that were needed previously.
Apps & Integrations
Through a partnership with Stripe, ActiveCampaign will be able to bring Stripe data directly into the platform and create/update contacts when a charge is successful/refunded, a customer is added, an invoice is created, and more! A branded Stripe trigger will be added to the ActiveCampaign platform, accessed via automations, as well as tags added to the contact when any of the above events occur.
If you manage tags for your ActiveCampaign account, it can be challenging for you to know whether to add a piece of data as a field, tag, or list. We created a handy quiz to help you solve this question. Similar to the “Is this a field?” quiz, the three questions will help you determine whether a tag is the correct entity for the data you’re adding so you know what to do next based on how your business operates.
Previously, even if you had selected a different language than English to use in your account, the location provided by the IP would override the language selection in the sign-up flow and account. Now, your language selection will be reflected across the sign up process for your account.
Now, if you’re a mobile AC user with reporting and send permissions, you can resend broadcast campaigns from your phone. To increase engagement, we recommend resending their campaigns to new subscribers and/or non-openers. Now, while viewing a campaign’s performance on the go, it is easier than ever to resend with a new, catchy subject line!
If you use the iOS version of the ActiveCampaign mobile app, you can now see “Active” Contact scores in a contact profile, helping you evaluate and prioritize the quality of your leads.
All users on the iOS ActiveCampaign mobile app can now see automations that a contact entered and completed in a contact’s activity feed. With this addition, you can see more clearly how a contact has been nurtured and/or contacted, and ultimately understand the contact’s history for a better experience.
If you have contact add/edit permission and access to “Accounts” on the ActiveCampaign Android app, you will now see all field groups and custom fields for contacts and accounts as you would normally see them on the desktop version of ActiveCampaign. Custom fields and custom groups are already supported in View Contact and View/Edit Deal.
If you have Deal edit/add permissions in your ActiveCampaign Android app, you can now view all fields and field groups as you would on the web application, so you have a cohesive, uniform experience across all channels.
You can now see a complete list of automations that a contact has been added into and completed in one list view, making it easier to track their past interactions and see a bigger picture of the communications you’ve already sent and how they are being nurtured across the ActiveCampaign platform. You will see the automation as completed or ongoing.
You can now use the search functionality in the iOS app to search and edit contact fields, instead of scrolling through several field groups to find the one you want to update.
You now have the ability to roll back individual edits in the designer via the ctrl/cmd + Z shortcut or the new “Undo” button in the toolbar. Available to all users that have campaign builder permissions, gives more granular and transparent control over their content creation process.
Conversations will automate first touch-points, collect data, and help qualify leads from inbound web chat messages. Real-time chat can be a time burden on businesses, so Chatbot automations will allow for more qualification and data collection before an Agent needs to answer.
You now have more control by being able to customize your view and optimize your personal workflow within the Conversations inbox. Agents can access settings to configure their personal view of available modules in the visitor detail pane. Adjusting the visibility or order of the modules will only be reflected in the agent’s personal inbox. This updates impacts all Conversations customers.
CRM & Pipeline Management
You can now create Date/Time custom fields on Contacts, Deals, or Accounts. Store more information in ActiveCampaign that will help deliver great experiences for customers. Examples include meeting date/times, or information they’re tracking for SLAs. Available to all users that have access to Contacts, Deals, or Accounts.
You can now define a default on import that lets you quickly get data into the ActiveCampaign without needing to spend time modifying a CSV. Available to all users with access to import Deals.
- On Import, users can now choose if they want to overwrite existing data if columns are blank. The default is “off,” meaning existing data will not be overwritten by blank values.
- Users can choose a default Pipeline, which will be used if a Pipeline has not been defined.
- Users can choose a default stage (within the chosen Pipeline) if a stage has not been defined.
You now have more control over your data when using the Account Import function. On Import, users can now choose if they want to overwrite existing data if columns are blank. You will now have more context when looking at recently created Contacts and Accounts. Separating Contacts and Accounts reduces clutter, provides focus, and reflects your web platform experience. The Contact Tab now shows the Created Date associated with a specific Contact or Account. iOS app users that have access to Accounts will be able to use the toggle at the top of the screen to select between viewing only Contacts or Accounts.
The Contact Activity Tab now shows Campaign Replies and Link Click events. This gives you more information on individual contacts, providing more context or allowing for better troubleshooting.
You can now more easily find the correct contact or deal when users share links or click on AC notification emails. When a user opens a link to a deal on their Android mobile device, it will take them directly to the relevant Deal (if they have access to it) in the ActiveCampaign mobile app.
You can now specify the order of Field Groups and Custom Fields on Contacts. This provides more consistency between web and mobile experience, and is more efficient for users when managing fields.
You now can to filter contacts by list, status, and tag in the ActiveCampaign mobile app. See how lists, or the number of contacts with a given tag, are growing. The app now provides this ability while also surfacing a 30 day trend.
You can now delete contacts in the ActiveCampaign app. Accounts can be flooded with incomplete or fake leads. By reintroducing contact delete to our new Contact Profile, users with Contact Delete permissions are enabled to clean up these contacts while on the go.
You can now see the same groupings and field orders that your web platform view provides.
Reporting & Analytics
The All Automations report’s backend framework is migrating in order to resolve specific load time issues and (in extreme cases) where the report would not load at all. Currently available for Trial, Plus, Pro, Enterprise accounts.
