If too many of your emails are ending up in the dreaded Spam folder, there’s hope! It may take some troubleshooting, as there are a lot of variables that can affect email deliverability. But here are a few things you can try:
- Get in the habit of removing inactive subscribers from your list. If you’re sending to too many inactive contacts who don’t open your emails, internet service providers (ISPs) will consider your email “unwanted” and deliver it to contacts’ Spam folders.
- Focus on sending content that your contacts find valuable. If you repeatedly send purely promotional, hard sell offers, you will see read rates lower and deliverability decline. Make sure you’re sending engaging content that your contacts want to receive.
- Send the content your contacts signed up to receive. Make sure the language on your subscription form is clear and gives contacts an accurate idea of what kind of content they can expect to receive.
