What's New

Lists & Management

You no longer have to select a list before managing subscribers, messages, etc.. You can view across all available lists or filter down to a specific list from each management page.

Users & User Groups

Before all list permissions & settings were specific to a single user. Version 5 has introduced user groups. You can think of user groups as an "account" as each group can have list permissions, restrictions, etc..

Filters are now Segments

What used to be sending filters is now List Segments. Many new conditions and segmenting options have been added.

Subscription rules are now Subscriber Actions

Previously named subscription rules is now named Subscriber Actions with many more action options.

Multi-Sending

With version 4 if a campaign stalled it would be restarted in the order it was sent. With version 5 it will restart any stalled mailings all at once without requiring the previously stalled mailings to finish sending first.

Cron Jobs / Scheduled Tasks

Only one cron job/scheduled task is now needed for all operations. Only cron.php needs to run every 5 minutes.

Branding

Branding options can now be found on the User Groups > Branding page

Language Files

We have split up the language files so that there is a file for the public section and another file for the admin section

Messages & Campaigns

In version 4 you created and sent messages. In version 5 we introduce another level to this by having both messages & campaigns. Messages are the actual contents of the email where as the campaign is how / to whom it will be sent to. A message can be used in any number of campaigns.

Email Confirmations

In version 4 you were required to create an email confirmation for each list. In version 5 you can create a single confirmation and apply it to multiple lists.

New Database Structure

The entire database structure has been changed. Upgrading can take a while as all the data needs to move from the old tables into the new tables.
