iSalient makes it easy to begin creating and deploying surveys right away. This guide will help you get started quickly by using the basic features of iSalient. For more in-depth information about setting up and using iSalient to take advantage of all of its advanced functionality, it is recommended that you come back later and spend some time looking through the rest of the iSalient documentation.
To begin, log in to the software and select Surveys->Add. There you'll find a list of simple options for controlling the way your respondents will interact with the survey. If you need help understanding any of the available options, you can find it here.
Next, you'll want to design the survey itself. To do this go to Surveys->Manage Surveys and click the Edit button next to your new survey. The first thing you'll see under the Edit Survey heading is the message: "Your survey currently does not have any pages. Click here to add one."
iSalient offers a wide variety of question types to choose from. When you select one from the list, the available options for that question type will appear below the selection. When you're finished crafting your question, simply hit Save and your finalized question will be displayed, along with the option to create another.
More information on the various question types and the kinds of options available to you when using them can be found here.
You may add as many questions to each page as you like, and you may create as many pages within any survey as you like. When you're finished creating your survey, select the "Deploy Survey" from the left sidebar.
The "Deploy Your Survey" page provides three simple options for integrating your survey into your existing web site or mailing list. The "Display Link on your website" option, shown above, will provide you with an HTML link that you can copy and paste into any page--simply add your link text between the closing ">" and "</a>" tags.
The "Create Pop-Up Survey on your website" option provides a Javascript snippet that you can copy and paste into the <head> section of any web page to have the survey appear in a pop-up window when the page is loaded.
Finally, the "Text link for use in emails" options provides a plain text URL that leads your respondents to the survey page.
