How do I create a subscription form I can use anywhere on my website?

Many people use our email marketing to generate their own subscription forms on their web sites.   Often these subscription forms are used to collect additional information about their website visitors such as their state and zip code.   These subscriber forms can then be used to send out targeted mailings to their subscribers using list segments.

In order to add additional subscriber fields to collect additional subscriber information you will need to follow these instructions:

http://www.activecampaign.com/support/tt/kb/article/email-marketing/version-50/subscribers/subscriber-fields_2

To create a subscriber field go to Lists -> Manage Subscriber Fields on the top navigation bar.

Click on Add Field to add your new subscriber field.   In this example we will create subscriber fields for Address, City, State, and Zip Code in addition to the default First Name, Last Name, and Email Address subscriber fields.  Click Add to Add Field when you are ready to add your Subscriber Field.

In this example we are simply adding a text field for Address and using it in the list Subscription Form.    You can choose to make this a required field but in this example we are not doing so.    When you click on create the subscriber field is added into the system for that list.    You would repeat that process for all subscriber fields that you want for that list.

Now that we have created all the subscriber fields that we want to use for the subscription form we want to paste onto our web site it is time to generate the HTML code that we will need to copy and paste onto our web site.   To generate HTML form code go to

Integration -> Subscription Forms

When you go to that page click on Add and you will see the following screen:

Select the list you want to use the subscription form for.   In this example we will use it for the same list we created the subscriber fields for.    The name of the list is Subscription Form.   When this list is selected we have the option of selecting all the additional subscriber fields that we added: Address, City, State, and Zip Code.

Below this we have the option to set Form Completion Options.    The system has default pages for using for subscription confirmations, subscription errors, unsubscription confirmations, or any action the subscriber makes that would redirect them to another page.   If you are generating a subscription form for your website you are probably going to want to use your own redirection pages.   To do this select the Form Completion Options tab and then use the drop down to select Redirect to URL from the drop down.

Now that the subscriber fields you want to use for your form and the redirection pages you want to use are set its time to generate the HTML form code that you'll be inserting onto your website.   To do this simply click on "Update & Continue" on the bottom of the page and your HTML form code will automatically be generated.

To copy all the HTML source code that is generated right click and select all and then right click and then right click and select copy.   You can also use control a and control c on your keyboard, respectively.   You would then paste that form code onto your website.
