Installation methods: EXE vs ZIP file
ActiveCampaign software is offered as both ZIP files, and as EXE installers. The ZIP file approach can be used from any computer, while the EXE installer needs to be run on a Windows computer. Whether you choose to install by extracting and uploading the ZIP files to your server, or by running the EXE installer from your Windows computer, the end result will be identical.
ZIP File The ZIP file method essentially involves downloading the ZIP file, unzipping the ZIP archive, and uploading the files to your server. You can upload using any FTP client of your choice, and will want to ensure that your FTP client is set to upload in binary mode only. The 'docs' directory of the ZIP archive will contain detailed installation instructions for each product. EXE Installer The EXE installer is a windows program that makes the already easy installation process even easier. Simply run the EXE file, and follow the installation wizard's prompts. You will be prompted for your server's FTP login information, so that the installer can upload the files for you.
