What do I need to install ActiveCampaign Email Marketing?
To install ActiveCampaign Email Marketing you simply need a web server/web hosting account that has PHP & MySQL. If you do not know if your current web server/web hosting account includes PHP & MySQL you can contact your web host or system admin and they will be able to let you know. If you currently do not have a web host or web server we have a list of several affordable options here.
Can I use this software on a shared host or do I need a dedicated server?
ActiveCampaign Email Marketing has been designed and tested to work in both shared hosting environments and dedicated servers.
Do you offer a hosted version of your software?
Yes - we do offer a hosted version where we manage the software and delivery! Try a free trial or order the hosted solution today.
What type of server configuration do you recommend?
We have designed ActiveCampaign Email Marketing to work in a large number of server configurations. Including Linux, ISS, etc.. Our preferred configuration would be Linux, Mail, and a substantial amount of memory. Keep in mind that ActiveCampaign Email Marketing will work on just about any configuration that has PHP & MySQL though. Including shared hosts.
Sending FAQ's
How are emails sent? Are they sent from my server?
By default all email will be sent from the server that you install ActiveCampaign Email Marketing on. That means it will use the default sending method on the server such as Qmail or Sendmail. You can however setup any number of SMTP servers to send with. Additionally you can have these SMTP servers rotate during sending after a specific number of emails have been sent.
How fast will my emails be sent out?
Sending speed is entirely dependent on the server you have installed the software on and your sending method used. This can range from 10,000/minute to 10,000/hour depending on your server configuration. Please note that sending speed should not be a priority. Often times you can experience better results by sending out your mailings in a moderate sending speed. ActiveCampaign Email Marketing will allow you to slow down your sending speed as needed.
Do you limit the number of emails I can send?
No. ActiveCampaign Email Marketing is installed on your own server so we do not limit that. You can contact your web host or system admin to find out if there are any limits for your server.
Will my emails be marked as Spam?
We have optimized the sending process to help prevent being marked as spam. That does not guarantee that you will not be marked as spam though. Many factors including message contents, subject, mail server, etc.. can contribute to your chances as being marked as Spam. We suggest to utilities the EmailCheck add on to help prevent being marked as spam.
Can I use a purchased list of emails?
Since you install the software on your own server we do not have any terms or restrictions regarding purchased lists. We do strongly suggest to avoid any purchased lists though. Please read "Email Marketing and Paid Subscriber Lists" for more details on why it can be a bad idea.
License & Pricing FAQ's
Are there any recurring costs/fees?
There are no monthly fees with the downloaded version. ActiveCampaign Email Marketing is software that installs on your own web server / hosting account and does not require any monthly or recurring fees. With the hosted version the monthly fee would depend on your list size.
Can I resell ActiveCampaign Email Marketing to my clients?
Yes! ActiveCampaign Email Marketing is designed for you to be able to resell it to your clients! Either resell installations of the software OR resell by creating client accounts in a central installation. You can even set limits for email sending, list size, etc.. by the user! Can I use a single license to manage multiple web sites/domains?
Yes. You can install the software at one location. Once installed you can generate subscription forms that can be placed on any number of sites/domains. While sending your emails you can set your From Name & From Email Address to anything you wish.

Can I rebrand the software to use my own name and branding?
Yes- with the downloaded version. You are free to rebrand the software and even remove all references to ActiveCampaign at no additional charge! Click here for more information.

We offer a 20% discount for all non-profit organizations. Please contact us with your non-profit details to obtain your discount.
How can I pay for this software?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and PayPal from our web site. We also accept purchase orders and check/money orders by request. To order using a purchase order or check/money order please contact us.
Support FAQ's
Do you include free support with my purchase?
With your purchase we include 3 months of free web based support & upgrades. After which you have the option to renew at any time. Our Knowledge Base and community forum are always available to clients as well.
Can you install the software for me?
Yes. If you would like our support staff to install/upgrade your software for you it is only $59. No install is needed for the hosted version.
Can you add a new feature that I need?
Our development is greatly affected by client feedback. If you have an idea or suggestion please let us know. If you have an immediate need you can request a custom development quote. Custom development is only available with the downloaded version.
What is the upgrade process for ActiveCampaign Email Marketing?
Upgrading ActiveCampaign Email Marketing is very simple. You simply upload the new files to your web server and run a web based updater. With the hosted version there is no need to upgrade the software as we will do that for you.
How often do you release new versions of ActiveCampaign Email Marketing?
While we do not have a set release schedule we typically release 2 main feature updates a year. Minor updates may be released as needed.
