The first big change is that all of your ActiveCampaign web software products and licenses are available under a single, centralized login. That includes free trials and free versions of our web software products, as well as any hosted accounts, downloadable software licenses, and even reseller accounts. It’s all in one convenient place, organized, and easy to find.

Everything you need to navigate the support center is all on the left sidebar. Manage Your Products, for example, is where you can go to view all of your serial numbers, to upgrade your licenses, to renew your upgrade/support contract or to add phone support. You can also purchase any add-ons that are available for your product right there under Manage Your Products.

A couple of really useful new features can be found under Download Your Products. Aside for the nifty new tabbed interface (pictured above) that lets you easily sort through the different types of licenses you own, take a look at the top right corner of that image. You’ll see a link for an RSS feed that you can subscribe to to be notified of updates to the products that you own.

You’ll find another great time-saver here when you’re ready to upgrade to the latest version. Between the links for full product downloads and the links to download your add-ons, you’ll find Upgrade Patches. Our system will ask you which version of Email Marketing, Survey Software, Help Desk Software, etc you’re currently using and automatically generate a simple patch that you can upgrade with. The upgrade process is then as simple as uploading the patch files right over top of your existing install and running the updater.php script from your browser. Delicious!

There are couple new things to see and explore in your support center account, which of course we believe are self-explanatory (since we made them.) But we’ll be rolling out additional touch-ups over the next few weeks, so post here if there is anything about the new support center interface that you don’t understand or would like to see work differently.

One thing that really amazes me about the Internet is the level of value it’s brought to information. Just look at Google: one of the most recognizable and powerful companies in the world. Based on what? Possession and leveraging of information. It’s an information economy, and the more information you have, the more leverage you can wield. And yet, how many businesspeople do you know, even in the world of web business, who chronically undervalue the information available to them? Chances are, you’re one of them!

Many ActiveCampaign Survey Software users don’t realize that they have the option to add extra data into their survey link in order to have it included in the survey’s results. It’s easy if you’re using Email Marketing to send your invitations, because you can just use1-2-All’s own personalization tags like %PERS_NAME%, %PERS_33%, etc.

Let’s say you’ve installed ActiveCampaign Survey Software on your web site at example.com. A typical survey link would look like:

http://example.com/isalient/index.php?survey_code=79b22778&login=1

You can add your data onto the end of this link using an ampersand (&). So, if you wanted to include the zip code of your invitee, you would add an ampersand, indicating that a value has been added, followed by the value itself: zip_code=60601. You final survey link for that invitee would look like:

http://example.com/isalient/index.php?survey_code=79b22778&login=1&zip_code=60601

Only basic alphanumeric characters should be included in the name of your value–no spaces should be used. In this example, we’ve used an underscore (_) instead of a space.

You can add on as many values as you’d like in this manner, simply by placing an ampersand before each value. For example:

http://example.com/isalient/index.php?survey_code=79b22778&login=1&zip_code=60601&name=Frank

When the survey is opened through this link, the Survey Software will automatically store the values “zip_code” and “name” along with all other survey data, such that you can view the data along with the invitee’s survey responses and export it for manipulation in statistical analysis software such as SPSS.

The license cost for this type of license is a yearly fee starting at only $1,250/yr with plenty of room for profit.

We have officially updated the hosted online Survey Software page to reflect all of the hosted services available. The service is entirely hosted on our surveys, so that all you have to do is sign up for an account and begin creating your survey. There is no installation to worry about or any maintenance. The price and feature set make it a good survey monkey alternative.

As of November 16, 2005 ActiveCampaign Survey Software “hit the shelves” with both Hosted and Owned online survey software. “What is the difference exactly?”, you may be thinking. The largest difference between the two available copies of the Survey Software are the options you have for using the Application along with an array of choices for purchasing. Our hosted solution will allow you to “pay-as-you-go” with monthly subscriptions, while our Owned Licenses are a one time fee that allows you to download and use the application on your own server. The Monthly/Hosted Plans include support for as long as you subscribe to the service, and the Owned Licenses include 6 months of support, and after the initial 6 months ends, the option to renew.

Two new question types have also been added to the Survey Creation process. Form sliders, either graphical or not, can be inserted into your surveys giving your users a faster, more enjoyable way to fill out your online form.
