The example surveys that you have for download are what is acting strange with their names showing up as gibberish after importing them and getting errors when trying to edit them. The styles available for download will only work with iSalient 2.10 or above. Odds are you are using a slightly older version. Version 2.10 has some language fixes and a dramatic speed improvement so it is worth upgrading to that version. Sorry for the confusion.
