Is this free?
Yes - ActiveSpell is free and is licensed under the LGPL license.
Can I remove your copyright?
No - they copyright in the source files must remain intact along with the license file.
Can I modify and sell this?
No - The LGPL does not allow you to claim ownership. You can add to ActiveSpell and distribute or sell it BUT you must provide source to everyone and you must let people know that ActiveSpell is available for free. You cannot sell a derivative work based purely on ActiveSpell.
Can I make changes/modifications to ActiveSpell?
Yes - However as ActiveSpell is licensed under the LGPL anyone that makes changes and enhancements to the core ActiveSpell source code have an obligation to LGPL their changes.
Can I bundle ActiveSpell in my application or web site?
Yes - you can bundle and it will not compromise your commercial license. While you cannot remove the copyrights/license file you can include it and embed it into your web site or application.
What is your affiliation with Ajax-Spell?
ActiveSpell 1.0 was based off Ajax-Spell. A special agreement was made between Ajax-Spell and ActiveCampaign, Inc. for ActiveCampaign, Inc. to start ActiveSpell under the LGPL. Both parties will continue development in their own directions and there is no development relation between the two parties.
What are your plans with ActiveSpell?
We will be releasing detailed plans further in development. Currently ActiveSpell is at the very beginning of a defined roadmap.
